Health and Wellness Consulting Services from STAR Services is a comprehensive service to support social service providers in the Twin Cities area in meeting the health and wellness needs of the individuals they serve.
Contracted Nurse Consulting Services
Contracted Nurse Consulting Services are specifically contracted to meet the needs of the individuals you serve and your agency. Scheduled visits by a STAR Services’ nurse to review documentation and health care activities to ensure the health and wellness of the individuals being served may include, but is not limited to:
- Assistance or completion of Psychotropic Medication Monitoring activities
- Review of Progress Notes
- Review of Medication Errors and Discrepancies
- Review of Medical Referrals, Doctor’s orders and implementation of those orders
- Review of Medication Treatment Sheet
- Review of Incident/Accident Reports
- Review of Medication Supply
- Provide recommendations on meeting the requirements of 245B and 203
Quality AssuranceSTAR Services’ Health and Wellness Nurse Consultants can conduct mock audits arranged periodically to review documentation and activities for compliance with Minnesota Statute 245B and the Adult Foster Care Rule. Written summary of the findings with recommendations for compliance are provided at the conclusion of each audit.TrainingSTAR Services’ Health and Wellness Nurse Consultants can provide training on overriding health care concerns in 245B as well as meet the training requirements for adult foster care providers regarding medical equipment to sustain life or monitor a medical condition. STAR also offers the following regularly scheduled classes:- Medication Administration
- Preventing Medication Errors
- American Red Cross CPR
- American Red Cross First Aid
- American Red Cross Child and Infant CPR
Training for managers includes:- Psychotropic Medication Monitoring Requirements
- Tardive Dyskinesia, the DISCUS and the MOSES
- 245B and 203 requirements
Training for your agency’s nurse:Our Health and Wellness Consultants can also train in new nurses for your agency, teaching them the ins and outs of 245B, psychotropic medication monitoring requirements, and 203.
