Implementing the 2012 Legislative Changes Thursday, November 1, 2012
Legislative
updates from the 2012 session mark some of the most significant
revisions to regulations to date. This detailed, five hour class will
offer providers the opportunity to learn and discuss the changes that
occurred to MN statutes, chapters 245A, 245B, and 245C. After this
class, participants will feel that they have the information they need
to implement the changes and to maintain compliance in their programs.Specific 245A areas:- Applicant demonstrated competency knowledge
- Record retention and electronic record requirements
- AFC “MI certification”
- New death policy requirement
Specific 245B areas:- “Incident” and “emergency” definition changes that affect reporting requirements
- Individual Rights language changes and the new rights restriction requirements
- Modified environment provisions
- 245B policy revisions and notifications
- Legal authority and oversight of individual funds
Specific 245C areas:- Privacy notice update
- New background study required after 90 day absence
Additionally,
we will discuss the new 245D “Home and Community-Based Services” (HCBS)
regulation which will govern 13 previously unlicensed services funded
by the waivers including CADI, BI, CAC, DD and EW such as respite,
independent living skills training, homemaker, and companion
services.Information on the application process for existing 245B
providers who are currently providing these services will be provided as
well.Audience: This class
